Prices

My prices can't be set uniformly. The bus trips take longer and often don't let me arrive on time. That's why my rates (postal code 10997) are based on travel time to your address. My price range runs from €110 to €130.

Minor repairs or regulation are included in the price. Prices are all-inclusive. The invoice is sent by email.

A visit without being able to do the job costs €65: for instance, when the client forgets the appointment or the tuning isn't technically possible. If, after a review, an appointment for repair or tuning is arranged, the fee isn't charged.

About me

My first tuning studies were in 1979, in New York, privately, with Carlos Grajales and Patrick Votta. From 1980 to 1982 I studied piano building, tuning, and voicing at the Bösendorfer Klavierfabrik in Vienna, where I learned strict quality standards and service ethic. Afterward I worked in Mexico City: for several years I taught piano tuning and repair at the Escuela Nacional de Música of UNAM, where I was also the maintenance coordinator for the institution's more than 85 pianos. I moved to Germany in 2003, and since 2005 I've worked as a piano tuner and restorer in Berlin — from punk rock groups to concert halls: always with the same formality and professionalism.

I offer my services in German, English, and Spanish.

I might also come accompanied by my little dog ABBA, who sleeps quietly while I work. She can also just stay home as well.

I'm an open-minded professional. I have been developing special projects together with sound artists, production teams, festivals, and composers.
